The broad-striped Malagasy mongoose lives in forests of eastern Madagascar. It is mainly active on the ground at night.
Broad dark stripes run along the back and sides over a paler ground color. The pattern is a conspicuous feature of this mongoose.
It is mainly nocturnal and terrestrial. Observations of its food are limited, so its detailed diet remains uncertain.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
