The Rodrigues flying fox is a fruit-eating bat found on Rodrigues Island in the Indian Ocean. Golden-looking fur may cover its head, neck, and shoulders, and males and females differ in their reported roosting patterns.
The body is usually dark chestnut, with golden-looking fur on the head, neck, and shoulders. Some individuals are dark, silvery, yellow-orange, or reddish.
It flies out to feed on fruit from dusk into the night. At roosts, males often rest alone, while females may rest in large groups.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
