This sheath-tailed bat occurs in Madagascar. It has long, shaggy, brownish-black fur and rounded ears, and a Marojejy survey also recorded it in open habitats.
The fur is long and slightly shaggy, with a brownish-black back. The ears are long and rounded.
A Marojejy survey describes it as crepuscular and reports captures at dawn in savoka and vanilla fields. Nearby rocks were noted as possible shelter.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
