The Rajah Scops Owl is an owl of mountain forests in central Sumatra and northern Borneo. Long ear tufts and dark markings on its brown plumage stand out.
The adult's upperparts range from russet to brown and are mottled with dark marks. A thick collar-like marking sits at the back of the neck, and the eyes are yellow-orange.
It is nocturnal and stays among the middle layers of mountain rain and cloud forests. It often eats beetles and grasshoppers, and may also take tree frogs.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
