The Barred Cuckoo-Dove is a long-tailed dove ranging from the western Himalayas through Southeast Asia. In Hong Kong it is recorded as a winter visitor and passage migrant to well-wooded areas.
The male has a pinkish-gray head and a long tail densely barred with rufous. The duller female has fine dark bars on the head and throat.
In Hong Kong records, it may perch quietly for long periods in concealed canopy positions and feed in fruiting trees.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
A survey at Tuensang market in Nagaland, northeastern India, recorded 21 Barred Cuckoo-Doves between May 2009 and April 2010.
