This small parakeet has a yellow-green body and blue-violet wings. Outside the breeding season it moves through the canopy in flocks and gathers with other parrots at clay licks.
Adults of the nominate subspecies are mostly yellow-green, with a yellow forehead, blue-violet wings, and dark blue in the tail.
Outside the breeding season, flocks can number up to about 30. The birds forage in the canopy for fruits, nectar, and seeds, and may visit clay licks with other parrots to consume soil.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
