This small antwren lives in forest along Amazonian rivers and lakes. It searches for insects in the lower and middle layers among tangled vines.
It is a small antwren with fine streaking. The male is strongly black-and-white streaked, while the female is browner or more yellow-brown.
It searches for arthropods alone or in pairs in the lower to middle forest layers, among vines close to water. This account does not infer behavior far from the water’s edge.
