This Andean flycatcher occurs at high elevations. It searches for insects and small vertebrates in scrub and along forest edges.
It is mainly brown, with white streaking on the face and throat and cinnamon-brown streaks on the breast.
It uses forest patches, montane scrub, and forest edges near cliffs, landslides, or road cuts. It searches for insects and small vertebrates alone or in pairs; the regional account describes a rough cup nest under a bridge or overhang.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
