The West African praomys is a small mouse found in West Africa. It favors forest and wooded areas, though records also come from dry scrub and cultivated places.
The back is dark brown in younger animals and reddish yellow-brown in older ones. Adults have a near-white underside, white hands and feet, and a dark tail.
It is mainly terrestrial, but records also place it in trees up to about 2.5 m above the ground. It favors forest and wooded areas and is also reported from dry scrub and cultivated zones.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
