This mouse occurs in Colombia's Eastern Cordillera and is distinguished by the white backs of its hind feet. It is described as a generalist feeder, but eating an introduced fungus was recorded for only one individual.
The backs of its hind feet are white, a feature the paper gives for distinguishing it from the similar Thomasomys laniger.
Its reported generalist diet includes insects, leaves, and fruits. In June 2022 at Bogotá's Entre Nubes park, one individual released from a trap was observed eating the introduced fungus Clathrus archeri for about three minutes.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
