The Dusky Leaf-nosed Bat is a small bat that feeds on flying insects. It has a leaf-like nose structure and roosts in dark, warm caves or rock crevices.
It is small, with rounded ear tips. The nose-leaf is about 4-4.5 mm wide; the South Asian account describes the nominate H. a. ater as lacking supplementary lateral leaflets on it.
It roosts in dark, warm caves, abandoned mines, and beneath rock piles, sometimes sharing roosts with other microbats. It eats small flying insects and may hunt in groups.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
