The Mascarene Paradise Flycatcher is a forest bird found only on Réunion and Mauritius in the Mascarene Islands. It feeds in the lower canopy and catches insects in flight.
The upperparts are rufous and the underparts light gray, with a long tail. The male has a dark-blue hood and pale-blue eye ring. The female is duller, with an ash-gray crown and nape.
It inhabits steep, wet primary forest to around 2,000 m. In the lower canopy it catches mosquitoes, butterflies, dragonflies, beetles and other insects in brief aerial pursuits. It usually lives in pairs and is strongly territorial in the breeding season.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
