The Acacia Pied Barbet is a stocky bird with striking red, white, black, and yellow facial markings. It occurs in southern African savanna and woodland habitats, feeding on fruit and insects.
Adults have red on the forehead and front of the crown, with a black rear crown and nape. Yellow and white markings form the eyebrow, and the sexes look alike.
It searches for food at different levels in trees and shrubs, eating fruit as well as insects. It may hang upside down to reach fruit.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
