The Grey-headed Goshawk has a grey adult form and a much darker form. It hunts mainly lizards from a perch and occurs on New Guinea and nearby islands.
Adults occur in a normal form with grey upperparts and pale underparts, and in a dark form that is mostly blackish. The sexes are similar.
It perches at forest edges and openings and takes mainly lizards by ambush. It is often solitary outside the breeding season and also uses gardens that retain trees.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
