The Eastern Heather Vole is a small rodent with a short tail and reddish-yellow nose and eye rings. It eats plants in boreal habitats and stores food.
The fur around the nose and eyes ranges from yellowish to reddish; the ear tips are tawny or yellowish. Its back is grizzled brown and its tail is short.
It eats plant leaves, stems, seeds, and berries, and caches food. Its diet changes with local and seasonal availability; nests are built underground.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
