The Nimba shrew is a West African shrew with a narrow, elongated skull and fine teeth. In a Taï National Park study, it ate a greater share of large prey than smaller shrews living alongside it.
The comparative account describes its skull as especially elongated and its teeth as very fine relative to related shrews.
At Taï National Park, it took a greater proportion of prey longer than 20 mm than several smaller sympatric shrews. The authors suggested its narrow skull might work like forceps, but this remains a hypothesis.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
