The Andaman Bulbul is restricted to the Andaman Islands of India. The account uses both Brachypodius and Microtarsus for the genus and notes that the bird was formerly treated as a subspecies of Black-headed Bulbul.
The forehead and throat are blackish, the crown and face dark olive, and the upperparts bright yellow-olive. The rump and uppertail-coverts are yellow, the underparts yellowish, and the tail has a narrow black band. Females are duller above.
It uses forest, forest edge, and thick jungle. It is usually seen in pairs, sometimes in bird waves, and forages in the forest understory.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
