A large tree-dwelling rodent found only on Panay Island. It has long, thick fur and a bushy tail longer than its body.
It is about 58–62 cm long, with long, thick, soft fur described as dark brown on the body and black on the tail.
Field notes describe it as arboreal and nocturnal, with use of tree hollows also reported. Because food records include local informant reports, they are not presented here as confirmed wild diet.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
