This bulbul forages through leaf litter in southern African forests. It is shy and may form small groups outside the breeding season.
It is mostly brown, with white to buff underparts and a brown to reddish eye.
It searches dense undergrowth and leaf litter for food and may gather in groups of up to six outside the breeding season. It is most often encountered in coastal evergreen forest, but also uses riparian thickets and wooded ravines.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
