The White-collared Blackbird is a thrush whose male has a broad white collar against black plumage. It searches for food among leaf litter and moves in pairs or small groups. It occurs in Himalayan mountain forests and alpine meadows.
The male is black with a broad white collar; its bill and eye-ring are yellow. The female is brown to rufous, with a less prominent collar.
It forages on the ground among leaf litter and retreats into tree cover when approached. It may move in pairs or small flocks.
