The Knysna Turaco is an arboreal bird of southern African forests. It moves through the canopy while feeding on fruit.
Adult males and females are alike. They are mostly olive green, with a green crest edged in white, red bare skin around the eyes, and brilliant crimson flight feathers that show in flight.
It forages in the canopy of fruiting trees and sometimes comes to the ground for fallen fruit. Its diet also includes invertebrates.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
