This bat occurs south of the Amazon in South America, from dry Caatinga and Cerrado to humid forests. It is known to roost in caves, but species-specific diet information is limited.
Its back ranges from light to yellowish brown, while the underside can be pale buff. Moustache-like tufts line the upper lip, and its funnel-shaped ears have pointed tips.
Records include humid sandstone or limestone caves, sometimes with open water. Detailed observations of how it finds food are limited.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
