This tiny shrew has a cinnamon back mottled with grey and a white belly. It lives in Sudanian and Sahelian savannas.
The back is cinnamon mottled with grey, the belly is white, and the feet are whitish buff.
It inhabits Sudanian and Sahelian savannas.
Head-and-body length is 42–50 mm, tail length 29–38 mm and ear length 5–8 mm.
The tail is cinnamon brown above and whitish below, with fine hairs and longer white bristles along its length.
