This flycatcher occurs in localized rocky mountains in Angola and Namibia. In Namibia, its range is restricted to the northern Zebra Mountains.
The regional guide compares its plumage with that of the Mountain Wheatear.
It moves agilely through low vegetation among rocks. Namibian observers describe it as resident and probably territorial; it may approach people and perch on nearby boulders.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
