The Bahama Woodstar is a small hummingbird found in the Bahamas and Turks and Caicos Islands. It feeds mainly on nectar and also contributes to pollination.
The male has an iridescent purplish-pink throat patch and a cinnamon-brown belly. The female has a white throat and breast with a rufous belly. The male's tail is forked, while the female's is rounded.
It feeds mainly on nectar and also takes small insects. Males dive during courtship and make a metallic sound with their tail feathers; females build the nest and rear the chicks.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
