The Strange Weaver lives in montane forest of the Albertine Rift and searches among branches and leaves for small invertebrates. Natural-history details are sparse, so nest construction and social behavior are not described here.
The original description gives the male a black head and throat, yellowish-olive back, chestnut on the lower throat and upper breast, and yellow breast and belly. In the female, black is limited to the upper throat, with chestnut below it and on the upper breast.
It occupies montane forest at roughly 1,500–2,700 m and gleans small invertebrates from vegetation in the trees. The reviewed account does not establish a detailed prey list or nest form.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
