Lowe's brown-toothed shrew is recorded in mountain areas of Yunnan, north-western Myanmar, and Thailand. In Yunnan, specimens were collected in high-elevation evergreen broadleaf forest.
Its back is slate gray and the underside is paler. The tail is longer than the head-and-body, brown above and creamy white below, with a tuft at the tip.
In Yunnan, most reported specimens came from evergreen broadleaf forest at 2,400–2,600 m elevation.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
