This cotinga has olive plumage and yellow bare skin around the eye. It uses the middle levels of Andean montane forest, where it may sit still before sallying for insects or taking fruit from hanging branches.
The plumage is dull olive, with yellow bare skin around the eye. A partly concealed black crown stripe may show on the head, making the eye area stand out against the subdued body color.
In humid montane forest it may remain still in the middle levels before making a short sally for insects. The account also records it taking fruit from hanging branches, so both waiting and brief foraging flights are described.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
