The current MDD name is Alionoctula collina, distributed in Indonesia and Papua New Guinea. A survey in eastern New Guinea collected it in montane forest.
All 23 specimens in the Mt. Dayman collection had cinnamon reddish-brown backs and buffy reddish-brown undersides.
The same eastern Papua New Guinea expedition obtained 23 individuals from a communal roost in a tree cavity.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
