The Western Rock Nuthatch forages on cliffs and rock faces and builds a mud nest in a crevice.
It typically has a gray back, pale throat and breast, a dark eye stripe, and a light buff belly. Color tones vary among regional subspecies.
It searches along rock faces for food. In a cliff hollow it builds a mud nest with a narrow entrance tunnel.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
