The Crested Doradito is a small bird with a yellow belly and a black-and-yellow crest. It moves alone or in pairs, and studies report bill-snapping notes within its song.
The back is olive with dark streaks, the underside yellow, and the crest black and yellow. The study reports that males differ from females in head and bill color and breast-color intensity, and have some shortened, pointed flight feathers.
The Argentine guide describes birds moving singly or in pairs, making short low flights, and raising the crest when excited. The study reports bill snaps embedded in the song.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
