A small bat described from Central American mountains and later recorded in Colombia, Ecuador, and Venezuela. Capture records include montane and premontane forests.
Its fur is short and woolly, dark brown at both the base and tips on the back; ventral hairs have dark bases with buff tips. The wing membrane joins the foot near the bases of the toes.
The original study caught bats in montane and premontane forest, including moist secondary montane forest and its edges. One pregnant female was recorded at Las Nubes in March.
