A capuchin monkey of Central American forests. Its dark body contrasts with a pale face, and its hands and tail help it search for varied foods.
The trunk and limbs are dark, while the face, front of the neck, and part of the chest are pale. Facial skin is pale pink to tan, the crown is dark, and the tail is prehensile.
A 2008–2009 study of three groups in Manuel Antonio National Park found that monkeys initiated 71% of observed acquisitions of human food; adult males initiated these interactions most often.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
