A sugarbird with a long, curved bill and long tail. It feeds on protea nectar and insects and also pollinates flowers.
It has a long decurved bill and tail, rufous crown and breast, and yellow undertail; the male's tail is especially long.
It takes nectar from protea flowers and catches insects in and around them. Its movements while feeding help transfer pollen.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
