Mullah's spiny mouse has spine-like hairs on its back and a pale underside. Current records place it in several countries in northeastern Africa.
The back is buff and the underside white; spiny hairs cover about the rear half of the back. The flanks toward the limbs are reddish buff.
A 1910 account from northern Somaliland says it favored rocky ravines and hills and was active by day and night.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
