The Arabian Woodpecker is a small woodpecker of western Saudi Arabia's highlands. It opens holes in tree trunks to take insect prey.
Males are olive-brown with a red crest and white wing bars. Females are paler and lack the red crest.
It is active by day and drills into trunks to extract wood-boring larvae, fig wasps, and aphids with its long tongue.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
