The Irrawaddy squirrel occurs from South Asia into northern Southeast Asia and is found in places with both forest and agriculture.
The upperparts are brownish to gray and finely grizzled. Underpart color varies, and pale patches occur on either side of the hips.
Its foods include seeds, flowers, fruit, bark, lichens, and insects. It is also recorded in landscapes where agriculture and forest are mixed.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
