A genet recorded in forests of Nigeria and Cameroon. It is associated with forests that have dense undergrowth, including montane forest, but detailed ecological information is limited.
It has a short raised crest along the middle of the back and dark-coloured legs.
Records include small mammals, insects, birds, reptiles, and plant material.
