Meyer's Lenomys is a large rat from Sulawesi. Its thick coat and white tail tip are distinctive, but few specimens are known and its actual range remains uncertain.
It is large and stocky, with dense, soft gray-brown to dark gray-brown fur above and pale grayish-white fur below. The tail is about as long as the head and body, and its distal part is white in recorded specimens.
The author observed two animals that were active at night and rested by day in leaf nests. One was found in a ground burrow, and both could move along branches. During about a month in captivity, they ate insects and figs, among other foods.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
