The Eastern Subalpine Warbler is a small warbler that breeds around the Mediterranean and moves to the Sahara region for winter. Males are grey and brick-red, while females are brownish.
Males have a grey head and back, a brick-red breast and belly, and a white moustachial stripe. Females are brown to grey above, pale below, with a pinkish wash on the breast.
It spends the breeding season in scrub, feeds mainly on insects, and nests low in bushes. In winter it moves to the Sahara region and also takes some fruit.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
