Petter’s sportive lemur lives in the spiny forests of southwestern Madagascar. Its grayish body, pale rings around the eyes, and whitish underside are described in the original species account.
The back is gray to grayish brown, and the underside is whitish gray. The gray face has lighter circular patches around the eyes and under the chin; the fur edging the ears is also lighter.
In a study in southwestern Madagascar, sites and home ranges used by Petter’s sportive lemurs had more large trees and food trees. Alluaudia procera was identified as an important food tree in that study.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
