The Spotted Scrubwren lives in south-western Australian forest and searches leaf litter for insects and seeds. The appearance and life details below are limited to the subspecies described in that region.
The south-western subspecies maculatus has a brown back, cream underparts, and a spotted breast. The regional sheet says males are slightly larger than females and have black between the bill and eye.
In forest with dense undergrowth, it scratches through leaf litter on the ground to find insects and seeds.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
