The Black-crowned Monjita is recorded in Argentina. Its black-and-white head and underside stand out; it often sits alone in an exposed place while searching for food.
The forehead, eyebrow, throat, and underside are white; the crown and postocular stripe are black. The back is brownish grey, and the black wings have a white patch.
It perches alone on exposed tall grass, shrubs, trees, posts, fences, or wires. It takes food from branches, foliage, or the air, and may drop to the ground to chase insects.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
