The greater stick-nest rat is an Australian rodent that builds large nests from piled sticks.
It has large ears and a blunt nose, with fluffy yellow-brown to gray fur, a cream belly and white marks on the backs of its hind feet.
It builds communal nests from piled sticks, grasses and leaves in and around dunes. Nests may be used for long periods.
