Zimmer's Tody-Tyrant is recorded in lowland forest of northeastern Peru and adjacent Amazonian areas. Its yellow-olive plumage and yellow-edged wing feathers are useful field marks.
The crown and upperparts are yellow-olive. Yellow edges on the wing feathers form two bars, and the yellow underparts have faint olive streaking across the chest.
It searches for food in the middle and lower canopy of mature terra firme forest. The cited account does not describe it as a bird of open riverbanks or farmland.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
