A small rat known only from the Sinhgarh Plateau in India. It has a dark brown back, grayish-white underside, and a tail shorter than the combined head-and-body length.
Its back is dark brown and its underside grayish white. The tail is shorter than head and body together, sparsely haired, and only weakly two-toned.
It is nocturnal, mainly terrestrial, and burrows. It is recorded in dry deciduous forest and scrub.
