This ground thrush was described from Cameroon. The original account records rusty-brown upperparts, orange-chestnut underparts, and a black patch at the ear.
In the original description, the upperparts were rusty, the lower back and rump chestnut, and the head darker. The sides of the face and underparts were orange-chestnut, with a black ear patch, whitish undertail, and white tips on the greater wing-coverts.
Oiseaux.net’s species account lists forest, especially dense habitat, and describes the bird as diurnal and terrestrial, feeding on invertebrates on the ground.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
