This small mouse is recorded from Oaxaca, Mexico. A 2012 paper reported three new captures, describing white feet and a long, soft tail and placing the collection sites in a transition between cloud forest and oak-pine forest.
In the collected specimens, the belly fur was grayish white, the feet were white, and the monochrome, soft-haired tail was longer than the body. A dark ring bordered each eye.
The mice were captured where oak-pine forest grades into cloud forest, at sites with humid winds, dense understory and deep leaf litter.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
