The Long-tailed Fiscal ranges from southern Somalia through Kenya to northeastern Tanzania. It perches in open country and dives to the ground for prey.
The head and upper back are blackish brown, the lower back is gray, and the rump is white. Females have a dark rufous flank patch, and the long tail is black and white.
It uses dry scrub and savanna and hunts alone or in small groups. From a low perch it drops to the ground, taking mainly beetles and grasshoppers.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
