The Cape Scrub Hare has mottled grey and black fur above and white fur below. It forages at night in scrub and eats grasses and other plant parts.
Its back is grey with small black flecks, while the belly and underside of the tail are white. It has long ears and hind legs longer than its forelegs.
Usually solitary, it rests in a shallow form in the ground by day and emerges after sunset to feed on grasses and other plant parts.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
